The second installment of yuletide garage punk from Midnight Records. Unlike Midnight Christmas Mess Vol 1, all of these tracks seem to be exclusive to this compilation. The record opens with quirky, costumed-rockers The Slickee Boys doing a rather upbeat cover of Simon & Garfunkle. The Vipers and The Holidays both contribute enjoyable tracks, as does New York power pop band The Cheepskates (making their second Midnight Christmas appearance). The record certainly has its share of low points as well, notably Dementia 13's painfully out-of-tune "Snow Is Falling" and Das Furlines migraine-inducing "O Tannenbaum Now". Again the thing that stands out about the Midnight comps is that nearly all these tracks are originals (so you won't get sick of hearing a dozen versions of Silent Night). Released in 1986.
