Split - Girl Trouble & Kings of Rock

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have seldom been more excited than when I dug this gem out of a box of 7 inches in a Tacoma record shop.  Since 1984 GT has strutted across (and stumbled over) the stages of Tacoma, churning out the wildest, most sincere and under-rated garage rock n roll imaginable.  Here they serve up their versions of "Blue Christmas" and the Ventures' "Sleigh Ride".  Like all GT records its a hard one to come by.  For more info on these guys (and girl) check out their fantastically cluttered website www.wig-out.com.
Focusing back on the record, I was considerably less familiar with the Kings of Rock but some quick research revealed that this band consists of the bassist and guitarist of another great Northwest act, Gas Huffer.  Pressed on clear blue vinyl and released in 1989 on Regal Select Records.

GIRL TROUBLE - SLEIGH RIDE
KINGS OF ROCK - X-MESS
